You can use golf video instruction two different ways. First, the traditional lessons provided by experienced pros are always personally helpful. Second, you can ask a friend to record your swing for a side-by-side comparison.

One of the greatest advantages of using golf video instruction is the ability to watch the timing of a good swing. Most average players seem to swing too fast. Television coverage of PGA tournaments is fantastic but is a poor substitute for a professional lesson. When watching a lesson, notice how a great player tends to linger slightly longer at the top. The down swing also begins slowly before rapid acceleration near the ball. The action is similar to cracking a whip.

After watching a great swing, play back your personal recording. The difference in total elapsed time may hold the key for lower scores.
